Seeing a platform on a feature list is a starting point. I still want to know which part of it the tool can read. Posts, comments, selected communities, and older discussions can matter differently to the work I'm trying to do.

If a particular source is essential to your prospecting, settle those details before choosing the rest of the workflow. A good review process can't evaluate conversations it never receives.

Describe the content you actually need

Write down the type of conversation you want to find and where it appears. Are buyers asking questions in posts, replying within threads, or discussing requirements in a specific community? Identify the content type before using the platform name as a requirement.

For a hypothetical example, a business that relies on comment discussions should verify comment coverage directly. A tool monitoring a different part of the same platform may not support that use case.

Read the source and plan details

Verify what is available on the plan you would use, any account or access requirements, and the relevant limits. Check historical access separately from ongoing discovery if past conversations are part of your research.

ICPSignal's supported sources and quotas depend on the current plan and availability. Confirm the details in your setup. I wouldn't infer universal access from the fact that a network is mentioned somewhere in the product.

  • Which content types are included?
  • Which communities or areas can be accessed?
  • What account or connection requirements apply?
  • Is historical content available, and within what limits?
  • Which plan, quota, or source restriction affects the use case?

Use examples to test your understanding

Choose a few relevant public conversations you can inspect yourself and compare them with the documented scope. Ask a specific question when something is unclear. The aim is to verify what the product promises to support, rather than assume every visible post must appear.

Keep source coverage separate from relevance. A post may be available but not fit your profile. A relevant post may sit outside the tool's access. Those problems need different responses.

Build the routine around confirmed coverage

Use the sources that support your audience and review process. If an essential source is unavailable, investigate another route before committing the sales plan to it. Don't broaden the customer definition merely to make the feed look busy.

Recheck the details when plan terms or source access changes. I want the workflow to rest on something you can explain clearly: the conversations you can access, why they matter, and what your team will do when they appear.
